THE BIRTH OF MESMERIZE

Mesmerize was started in 1987.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND MESMERIZE

The manufacturing originally opened in 1985 under the label KAMIKAM and later LAX. KAMIKAM is currently the name of the corporation. My sister, Katrin came up with the name MESMERIZE in 1987 and we have used it since. My family and I left Iran in 1979. We initially live in Israel for three years and then decided to move to the United States. My father, Eli Hakimi, was a successful residential builder in Iran. After trying out different businesses in the United States, he decided to open a garment manufacturing business in Los Angeles in 1985. My older brother, Kamran and I soon joined my fathers business. Kamran oversees the manufacturing aspect of the business and I oversee the designing aspect. My father focuses mainly on sales and travels frequently to trade shows.Haydee Celallos manages the office and helps with sales. Nina V is the chief designer for the company and the eleven other people employed by Kamikam are involved in cutting, shipping and clerical work.
